No video after update to Kernel 3.16

    Hi all

I am using Kubuntu on a number of machines, including a HP Pavilion g6. Everything was fine until I installed the update to Kernel 3.16. When I boot the default Kubuntu install, I just get a black screen. I can see the wifi lights etc all lighting up as expected, so my suspicion is that it is a video issue. If I choose Custom options to boot, and select 3.13.0-48 the system boots fine. (That is where I am posting this from). However both 3.16.0-34 and 3.16.0-33 give me the black screen.

I have been using various Linux distros for a long time, but I am far from an expert so any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

if you were using the AMD driver it may not have been rebuilt for the new kernel

      Thanks Vinnywright

I change to using the Video driver from fglrx-updates instead of X.org and the solved my issue.
