    audio again!

Having resolved my previous issue with no audio, now, once I restart my computer, the audio device wants to switch to something other than what I had it set for before I booted. How can I resolve this permanently? Is it possible to uninstall a hardware device vis system settings? The audio device in question is built into the motherboard. How can I lose this from the configuration?

    Thanks

Can't remember if this option is available in KDE4, but look at System Settings >> Multimedia >> Audio Hardware Setup >> select the sound card, and in the profile section, select "Off"

You can also make sure your preferred card is moved to the top in the various categories in the Device Preference area, and that the card you don't want is at the bottom.

Problem solved. I can't believe it was that obvious. I would accuse myself of being a complete idiot except for the fact that there's no such thing, just idiots in progress. ;-)

      Thanks.
