Sound from other programs feeds back into mic

I'm running Kubuntu 14.10 with Plasma 4 and KMix. For once, I've come across something I know how to fix in Windows, but can't figure out in Linux. I have every sound from every application not only coming out of my speakers, but also going back into the sound capture. So any time I voice call anyone, they hear everything. I can't find any deeper options for turning this off within KMix settings.

I have tried having my microphone actually turned off, and still get sound as if I were using all output as input. I don't want to switch to any other sort of sound software, because I've got a lot of things just the way I like them. If anyone could point me to how I can change this, I would appreciate it.

you can try.......... in a terminal do "alsamixer" use the arrow keys to highlight the chanel (mic) and mute/unmute (esc key to exit it )it with the M key .

or install "pavucontrol" Pulse audio volume control and use it to adjust things .
