    Unable to install 15.04 Vivid

    Hello,

I am trying to install Kubuntu 15.04 Vivid but every attempt fails after the setup has setup APT then i get an message the installer has stopped see the installation report. But that is empty. I have an HP XW4600 workstation with 4 gb memory and an Asus Nvidia Geforce 210 Graphic adapter with 1 gb memory connected with dvi. I have for so far 10 times downloading 15.04 and every time the same error the installer has been stopped, when running in live mode the desktop crashed, freezes or system hangs completely. I am running now Kubuntu 14.10 and have no any problem.

So how can i install 15.05 without problems and why is the installation report empty.

Without any error messages I'm only guessing here, but as your using a Nvidia GPU and the fact that 15.04 is still under development I am guessing that the Nvidia driver for your graphics card has not yet been included.

Does the installer give you an option to use free drivers for graphicscard?

      What kind of iso

      There are available:

      - Kubuntu 15.04 alpha 2 : http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/re...vivid/alpha-2/

      - Kubuntu 15.04 daily build: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/

      Have you tried both ?

If these don't work - there is the minimal CD. It will download the packages from online archives at installation time.

      64: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dis...mages/netboot/

          http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/current/

One of the files in the list is started stated as oversized, but I would say it was undersized judging by the size of the file being 0 (zero)

I didn't get the option to use freedrivers or the nouveau driver, the installer simply crashed after adding the apt etc., i am now waiting for the new release then i will give it an try, it cost me too much time to download and burning the iso. When is the expecting relaesa date of 15.04. Thanks for the support.

Tried installing 15.04 I believe it is the newest build. Livecd loaded, clicked isntall, after clicking continue on screen where one can select to download updates while installing (did not select this), it sits there for a while. This happened while installing 14.04 So, I left it alone. Screen locked. Unlocked, waited some more. Locked and unlocked two more times. Gave up. Rebooted, tried again 3 times, same result. Booted back to 14.10 Any ideas? Nvidia GT610 video card. Have not tried in virtualbox because I really wanted to use the 'real' thing

Check your network connection while waiting...and be patient. I noticed a lot of network activity going on after I started the installation. I'm guessing the installer downloads some packages prior to initiating the actual install. In the end, my 15.04 install took quite a while to get going, but was OK thereafter.
