Laptop suspend not working

Hello,
since a fresh install of kubuntu 14.04 on a vaio vpc-z13, I have been unable to suspend to ram. Closing the lid, or running
sudo pm-suspend
locks the screen but that is all. Never had this problem with previous kubuntu versions, not sure how to debug.
/var/log/pm-suspend log to follow... Any help appreciated!
