Changed default folder paths: how to index for search?

I changed the paths of my default folders like Pictures, Documents etc. to be inside a separate partition so that I can share them easily between distributions.

Name:	paths.png

Size:	73.2 KB

I'd like Kubuntu to index these locations automatically so I can search for documents etc. from the search bar in the Kickoff Application Launcher.

Anyone know how to do it? I'm surprised it isn't automatic really.

By default, the nepomuk thingy only indexes things in your $HOME directory. It is quite easy to modify this in System Settings >> Desktop Search >> Indexing tab >> Customize Folders
