live system freezes at startup [integrity check works [all ok]]

This is the first kubuntu release that makes trouble.
The system freezes at "starting bridge file events into upstart" or bonjour.
Older kubuntu cd images still work.


Hardware:

AsRock K7S8XE 1.00
AMD Sempron 3000+ Socket A
nVIDIA 7600 GT AGP
Hama (Twinhan) PCI DVB-T)

Have removed USB wifi and BT.
