Amarok 'Fast Forward' 1.4.1 is now available in Kubuntu.

why is amarok-gstreamer not available at http://kubuntu.org/packages/amarok-141 ?
the xine engine sucks :-( there was a working gstreamer engine at http://kubuntu.org/packages/amarok-14beta3 I wonder why it is not in 141.

That repository was for Amarok 1.4 beta 3. By the time Amarok 1.4 (official release) came, GStreamer support was broken. I'm not exactly sure why. I think because it was unmaintained. So GStreamer has been out of Amarok since 1.4 was released, just a few days before Dapper was released, AFAIK.

AFAIK gstreamer .0.10 is not quite stable/ready in terms of Amarok at least, and since the xine engine handles eewrything better atm, that is what was used. I personally built Amarok from sources in the past and included gstreamer support, but I could not get it to work well for everything. Maybe now that 1.41 is final, they will work on different engines while working on Edgy

This is odd, my visualization is greyed in the menu. I cannot start any visualization. This is happened since I upgraded to 1.4.1.

I'm kind of new to kubuntu, but Adept still has the 1.3.9, and Add/Remove too. What do I do?
