How to set/change Dolphin's default "columns used" in "Details View"[ctrl+3]?

    That file does not exist on my system, which explains why I couldn't find it. Also, the previous menu that allowed saving view setting defaults is not here either.

    I'll read your links, but I'll have to find that file somewhere else.

    EDIT: I did find the save defaults button finally on my fourth look. I guess the theme differences threw me. However, the view_properties file is still not on my system (bare metal 15.04 install).

      Dolphin view_properties

      Dolphin view_properties directory is made as needed - Few cases when it is made automatically:

      - set the global settings - 'Use these view properties as default'. The settings are saved to the ../view_properties/global/.directory
      - set the view properties for the directory in which you don't have the write permissions. The settings are saved to the ../view_properties/local/path/to/folder/.directory

      Starting from KDE 4.7, Dolphin's menu bar is hidden, but easy to reach and restore. If you prefer menu bar to be present, you can enable it by selecting Control -> Show Menubar or pressing Ctrl + M.
