Unable to install Wubi/Kubuntu on HP PC

I was unable to unstall Kubuntu via Wubi on my HP Pavillion g7-6153NR PC (1600 x 900 17" screen). I got the same failure on two attempts (each attempt downloaded the software). It gets far enough that it says it has to reboot to finish the installation. The reboot brings up the blue KDE background with white dots flashing and the then the screen goes to a series of approximately one inch alternatively black and white lines. This problem could be way down the Kubuntu food chain.

I was able to install Wubi/Xubuntu. During that install I did get the exact same screen full of alternate black and white 1 inch lines. However, that screen was only there for a maximum of 1 second. I don't know if I could have gotten past that screen in Kubuntu by waiting longer. I did wait at least 20 seconds before reseting the computer.

    Hi....

Out of curiosity, can you try Kubuntu in "Live" mode and see if you get the same results? You can download a .iso copy here. Then just burn it to a CD.

Also, please post your system specs, including the graphics chipset.

    Regards...
