    In general, the 64 bit version is the best to use on a 64 bit system. The downside is that some of the proprietary software that is still only 32 bit will not work properly with the 64 version. So you need to check this out.

    My son uses a 64 bit version and uses virtual machine software to run both a 32 bit version for some software that has this issue, and to run a version of Windows XP to run some Win XP only software - he has no issues with any of this.

    do you have examples of what software this is , since i do have a few proprietary things installed (flash,some windows games for wine.. , codecs). im just wondering what these programs might be with issues.
