The directory "/usr/share/fonts/X11/cyrillic" does not exist.

(WW) The directory "/usr/share/fonts/X11/cyrillic" does not exist.
This appears in ones Xorg.0.log file. Yes, it's only a warning. Yes, it does nothing to ones system.

But, this warning has been present in every release of Kubuntu I've used, starting with Edgy Eft. I used to be able to just edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and comment out the FontPath "/usr/share/X11/fonts/cyrillic". But this file no longer exists on our newer Kubuntu's, yet the warning persists.

So what file (now) contains this reference to the non-existent directory? And more to the point, why is this defunct reference still included?

There is no good reason but history. A long time ago the programs for X
Window were not properly localized so in order to make them use
non-Latin fonts one had to do some durty tricks, one of them being
rearranging the directories in the FontPath. Thats why xfonts-cyrillic
installed its fonts in a separate directory. There were no directories
for Thai, Lao, etc. because there were Russian developers working for
      XFree86
, but no Thai, Lao, etc. developers.

      Anton Zinoviev
But that was "A long time ago" and this is now "The present" and the localization issues are no more, yes? So why is this 'historical left-over' still included in the Xorg configuration? If I were a purist, and I wanted to eliminate as many Xorg warnings (WW) as I could, I'd just create the referenced directory so it's 'found' and Xorg stops complaining about it's absence. But shouldn't the reference to it have been removed by now? And, back to my original question, what (current) configuration/start up file contains the check for this directory?
