      Re: Project Neon

I myself removed kde-nightly today. My poor ISP isn't good enough to handle 180mb of daily updates. I loved the UI, but perhaps, I'd install it on a VM as it crashes often.

But well, I'm not complaining.. great work by apachelogger!

Have you got the applications in Kickoff? I downloaded 170 mb the other day and still cannot see them.
          Lancelot wont run either.

            and rerun kbuildsycoca4

No applications menu either... well, it's also empty I mean.

I'll do with yakuake and command line for the time being. :-)

                  Thanks for the fix, Musta!

Is it probably better to do a symlink? Also, is this going to overwrite the KDE4.1 menu? This is a bit of a concern, maybe we should contact apachelogger and ask ...

                    Hello,

just read the previous page of this thread (5th post, if you do not want to read the other four.)

Okay. This is looking deliciously awesome at this point.

Just one problem/question. Is anyone else having difficulty with akregator? For whatever reason, it won't fetch any feeds. Konqueror works a treat, so it's not the internet connection. The same feeds fetch fine KDE 4.1

Any suggestions? Or should I just wait?

I'm seeing the same problem with Akregator.

Akregator from within Kontact works just fine over here.

I had this problem as well with an earlier version, in addition to a bunch of kio_http's and akregator hogging the cpu to 100%. The newer versions seem to have fixed that. Did you perform an update lately?
Anyway, my KDE4.2 works  great after I wiped the original ~/.kde-neon folder and copied ~/.kde to ~/.kde-neon.

Is anyone running these packages on 64bit? I'd love try them but I'm afraid I'll bork my system if I install them.

I really don't think you can bork your system. These packages do not interfere with your base installation, as far as I can tell. And they are easily removable by simply uninstalling the packages. Unless you log out and choose to start a KDE Nightly session you would never know they were there at all.
