How to integrate BasKEt into Kontact?

    hi everyone,

i'm trying to figure out how to get basket (THE kde note-taking / outliner application, see: http://basket.kde.org/) embedded in kontact. according to the description, this should happen automatically upon install, and even if not, one should be able to add basket to kontact through the "configure kontact > select components" menu.

however, on my computer basket doesn't show up among the components (while other programs that i installed recently do, such as kalarm or kpilot).

does anyone how to go about this?

How did you install basket? I installed from the repositories using adept. When I open kontact I have the basket icon in the left side bar along with the other programs.

      mike,

did you install basket recently? someone on the kde list told me that, for whatever reason, basket's kontact integration has been disabled (?).

i used adept manager and installed the basket package. tried it about 2-3 times. basket, of course, works fine, but doesn't get embedded into kontact. and, as i mentioned in my earlier post, it doesn'T show up as a component either.

I added it sometime within the last week. Not sure... I think I had it a while back and then removed it.. might be something in my config files leftover from before. I will look.

I check for anything that tied basket into kontact. Here are my results for a simple search using:

          Code:
          ls /usr/lib/kde3 | grep basket
          basketthumbcreator.la
          basketthumbcreator.so
          kcm_basket.la
          kcm_basket.so
          libbasketpart.la
          libbasketpart.so
          libkontact_basket.la
          libkontact_basket.so

Check to see if you have something similar. I am running KDE 3.5.8.

Mike, thanks. The same files show up on my system, but no integration. Really strange.

I actually gave Kubuntu a try last year (had to erase it in between from my external hard drive because I needed it for a different purpose ... ), and I remember that everything was working as supposed back then.

Does anyone know how I could make basKet show up as a component under the Kontact settings?
