Issue booting off of a Live CD for PowerPC

I've got the live CD version of Kubuntu for the PowerPC, and whenever I attempt to boot off of it, it gets to a certain point and then everything hangs. This point is between 70% and 100% on the kubuntu loading screen, and the entire display will flick, and then go black and stay black. Does anyone have any ideas on what's going wrong?

I'm having the same problem with both Kubuntu and Ubuntu 5.10 live CD's.

I couldn't get the console propmt to appear, but perhaps it will work for you.

Anyone know of a way to boot straight to runlevel 1 (or 3)?

Well, I'm not having any issues booting with Ubuntu...but for some reason Kubuntu always dies. I think it's selecting the resolutions that's causing the problem.
