WiFi card recomendation ?

From looking at user questions the manufacturer says it is a realtek 8812au.

While there is a driver package available in the repos it seems that the vast majority of people need to download and compile a newer version of it manually. The company says it will send verified purchases instructions on how to install the driver but I imagine it is the same process as this:

This is not hard to do at all and using dkms it will be rebuilt automatically on every kernel upgrade.

The two I listed should work without installing anything.

Glad that GregM found a good wifi card! I bought the BrosTrend 1200 and followed the seller's driver procedure - didn't work. I was almost ready to return the item, as the seller wasn't responding to email. Then I tried ubuntu-drivers, which found the dkms installer for the rtl88x2bu driver. It worked!

I was able to use my older Panda PAU09 antenna to download the driver, with both antennas/antennae plugged in. The dkms installer worked perfectly. Typical Realtek stuff!

I plugged it in and then added the WiFi widget to the task bar.
Tried a couple of the WiFis that are available and it worked.
The wife is happy with it and so I am happy with it.
It was her birthday yesterday and this was part of her birthday present...Twofer.

While I was looking around I ran across this USB system which is supposed to have drivers for Kubuntu/Linux.

Check the chip . i generally try to avoid broadcom and realtek they can be iffy while atheros and intel ones seam to "just work "

I don't think any USB dongles have Intel chips, but searching for well reviewed units on Amazon, then searching the questions/reviews for 'Linux' can help narrow the wide playing field down.

I bought one of these last year for about eight dollars. https://www.amazon.com/Wifi-Antenna-.../dp/B00H95C0A2 Originally made for the Raspberry Pi, I have tried this on two different desktop PCs and it works surprisingly well. It came with a driver disk but KDE Neon installed it right away. Look around on Amazon and eBay and you may be able get a better price.

Which specific 990 model?
Some variants have slots for the mini cards which makes it easy to find and suggest an Intel card

Looking for recommendation for best wireless card or USB plugin for wifi for these computers.
