    libtag1c2a_1.4-4~dapper: 404 Not Found

I have been trying to install  libtag1c2a_1.4-4_i386 (dependency of java) and keep getting the 404 not found error.
    The package is at:
    http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/t/taglib/ .

I've tried adding a local file as a repo to install it and receive this error.
Failed to fetch file:/home/ian/debian/dists/stable/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz  File not found
I added this line to /sources.list
    Code:
deb file:/home/ian/debian stable main contrib non-free
and created a folder: /home/ian/debian as per the instructions in, man - sources.list5.
I can see the file in the list in a browser but can't get it to install.
How do I get my local repo to work and is there a reason why it will not install from the online repository?

    Thanks........

You can get that through Adept or apt-get. Try adding some U.S. repo's to your sources.list. I'm not sure which repo this file resides though. As far as the local repo, read here: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/ap...s-sources.list

In addition to the previous post, you can also install a single deb-file with the Kubuntu servicemenu (by right-clicking on the file and choosing Kubuntu Package Menu>Install)

But as mentioned, the package is available in the repositories. You might want to check your sources.list if you can't find it.

There are a couple of versions in the repos ('1.4-4' in dapper and '1.4-4~dapper1' in dapper-backports)
