Had a look at this site

http://www.channel4.com/more4/news/news-opinion-feature.jsp?id=350

to see an interview with Mark Shuttleworth.

Do you think I can get ANY of my players or browsers to play this bloody thing?????

I can watch most things on the net with Konq., Firefox or Opera, (have all the codecs and stuff) but I* can't get THIS bloody thing to work!!!!!

And in Kubuntu!!!! Not sure if it's annoying or funny. Probably funny.

Cheers

Plays with KMplayer embedded in Konqueror, set up with embedding for mimetype video/x-ms-asf and mplayer with mplayercodecs-all-20060501. IIRC, KMplayer adds extra code for asx handling.

If you still haven't seen it yet, this is the same video:

Or try standalone kmplayer with the direct link:

The Google site played well in Firefox, on a machine with Kubuntu 686 and the non-free codecs. The Channel4 site wouldn't play for me in either Konq or FF on either my AMD-64 or i686 boxes.

Thanks KDEfanboy,

The Google site worked for me.

Thanks Al

Appears to be not my machine. Good to know. Was worth the effort to have a look, though. Good little story.
