hello there,

who can help me with this 'minor' cosmetic problem: I can shade/unshade via window titelbar function, but not adjust the duration, despite trying different settings through compiz
animation,..., and I reeeally love that ( I used to run Ubuntu 10.10 before, it was always smooth there) now I run Kubuntu 12.04, which is absolutly perfect on all levels except the abovementioned,.. and since I am an absolute linux beginner, I don't know where to look or tweak,... any ideas would be greatly appreciated,.. thanks inadvance !!!
(I'd give details about machine, graphic card etc., but since it worked fine on Ubuntu, I don't suspect the issue there and I don't want to clutter ;-D, so please ask !)

Assuming you are still running kwin for the window manager and not compiz, go to the system settings and choose the window behavior option. On one of the tabs there you can adjust settings for shade.

thank you very much for your reply, much appreciated !

I made a complete new install of the os
( to make sure only kwin is controlling my window behaviour )
and then followed your directions..
I think I did find the right buttons under system settings, windows behaviour, titelbar settings, shade/unshade, but can't find a button for durations settings
( that's why I tried it with compiz, where I did find a button for duration setting),...
so it still only works as an on/off, but without that lovely smooth 500ms roll up/down of the window

I know it's pretty pedantic, but I just love that feature soooo very much !!!

best regards
