Kubuntu won't install..stuhck at formatting partitions

Ok...so I have 2 HDDs in my system...just getting that out there...

So I booted from the CD, everything worked fine, started the installer, formatted the spare HDD, got the ready to install page, it all is working fine, I click install, it gets to 98%..........stops doing anything...

I can still do stuff with it, the computer isn't frozen. the installer just isn't doing anything...

Message on it is "Creating ext3 file system for / in partition #1 of IDE slave (hdb)...

And it sat like that for 8 hours...

any help please?

try again? Maybe it was just an unlucky draw? Something like this happened to me and it fixed itself after I restarted and tried again.
