Hello everyone,
i am having problem with my new printer canon laser LBP 2900 B.I am not able to print anything.when i click on print it just saves the file in to documents folder and does nothing.
I have looked into configure printer but this model is not listed there.

I am looking to switch to kubuntu completely.Currently i am using wubi installer but because of this printer i am unable to do so.BTW it runs perfectly in windows 7.
Please help me i really need this.

Canon is generally less than reluctant to supply Linux drivers but it seems you are lucky with this model.

Google gave several hints at success, this is one:

First thanks for replying..
I followed the post and installed the CAPT 2.40 drivers.now i connected my printer and it configured itself with notification 'LBP 2900 is ready to print'.

Then i tried to print a file and it gives the output like below. It doesn't print anything.what should i do now?

See if you can add the printer through this link to the CUPS interface:

Alright , i give up.From last 4 days i been looking for this printer to work, but it doesn't.All my friends has the same printer so now i cannot convince them to use kubuntu anymore.I love kubuntu but printer is the most important part of my work so i would just go back to windows7;until this printer works out of the box. Please kubuntu community....thank you everyone.
Hoping to hear a good news!!
