Struggled to get 2 xscreens working under Ubuntu. Very happy that KDE handles my window management for me!
I have 2 monitors, and dream of being able to access their 4 workspaces independently. I want to keep a page on one monitor, while switching the other. If I can't do this, what's the point of xscreens anyway (serious question, be interested on why else people do this)?
Some other xscreen gripes you might be able to help me with too:
1) I want a Cairo dock to initialize on both xscreens on bootup. Any ideas how to do this?
2) Alt+F2 for run only works on the primary xscreen. Can I enable this to work for both?
3) Similarly, I use yakuake which doesn't like you trying to launch multiple instances. Can I have this terminal available on both screens too?
4) Sometimes little dialogue windows open on the wrong screen for some reason. Is there a way to avoid this? For example, occasionally the KDE wallet will open on the opposite screen to the application that asked for it.
And one workspaces gripe:
5) In compiz you can give bindings to move windows with you when you change workspace. Any recommendations on an application to do this for kubuntu?
Thanks so much in advance, really keen to get going with this!
