[SOLVED]PPA X-swat Nvidia drivers not being updated

Hey all :)

I have apt-added the x-swat ppa for the latest nvidia drivers and I see on the web site that they are at 285.05.09. However, when I do an apt-get update && apt-get upgrade, nothing gets updated. Currently, I am at 280.13 from the jockey install.

How do I pull down the latest driver from x-swat? I have tried to install nvidia-graphics-drivers according to the website, but apt-get doesn't see that driver.

I have also checked that the ubuntu-x-swat-x-updates-oneiric.list file does not have a commented line.

Any ideas?

I just noticed mine wasn't working either. I deleted the x-swat files from /etc/apt/sources.list.d, updated apt, re-added the repo and ran apt-get update again. nvidia-current is in there now and is the proper version, so the PPA works.

Once you get the repo fixed, the way you get the current driver is

sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

Yeah, I just figured out what it was.

When I installed the nvidia driver originally, I used Jocky and installed the post-install updates which installed the nvidia-current-updates. This prevented the X-Swat update because they use nvidia-current.

So, I removed the driver from Jocky and just installed nvidia-current from x-swats and it worked.
