Yo, All, :)

I completed a difficult upgrade from 11.04 to 11.10. Multiple reboots, many hangs during updates via muon... frustrating. However, I'm up now (whew!).

But I have some *weird* screen corruption. Firefox doesn't display the 'close tab' icon on each tab - it's just blank. I can click on it and close the tab... but no icon's displayed.

Chromium has some *bizarre* stuff, too. I've attached a picture of the header - weird icons missing.

I uninstalled chromium and reinstalled it - still the weird behavior.

I don't know to what even uninstall/reinstall. I can't figure out what's missing!

Any ideas?

Here's my uname:

Linux tiller-laptop 3.0.0-12-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 7 14:56:25 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

This is running on a Intel core i5 Dell Studio 15 on the Intel X.org driver.

Thanks in advance!

I think I'm getting something similar. The window title bars are magnified/shifted to one side relative to the rest of the windows. Sometimes the min/max/close are just not there.

I have tried tweaking window decorations just now in the kde control panel but whichever one I try it is not fitting to the window it heads up.

It is a fresh install.

I also had this issue on one desktop. Clean install. Disabled Desktop Effects and rebooting solved it for now.

It was an older Dell, and runs faster with effects off anyway, so not a big loss.

Yo, All, :)

My system has been updating - woo-hoo! Unfortunately, there was no change. But this seems to be related to icons, somehow. I've attached an image of the top of my Emacs window. No icons at all. And I've attached a clip of my Firefox (7.01) header - the 'close tab' icon (red 'X') is missing. So weird!

Anybody have more ideas?

P.S. - I'm also missing icons in the 'Open File' dialog that's opened by Chromium when I attached these images!
