Hi. I just want to know if it's safe to use adept updater? On my machine it says there are 320 updated packages available, I'm using a sources.list generated by Source-o-matic, so I want to know if it's safe to proceed, I really want the latest Kubuntu Dapper can offer.

Adept Updater is just as safe as using any other package managing tool like Adept or Synaptic (or apt-get if you like). It basically just does the same thing as clicking Fetch Updates-Safe Upgrade/Full Upgrade-Apply Changes in Adept. It works only with the sources.list that you have and adds nothing more.

But 320 packages? What version of Kubuntu are you using or from what version of Dapper did you install (Flights 1-5 or RC or official release?)? I'm not so sure about the Source-o-matic output since I've never used it, but it might have also put repositories that you might not need or want just to get Dapper up and running.

Better yet, why not try posting your sources.list. Or you can get the one from aysiu's website: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/sources.php
