um i was just wondering is it better to get a kubuntu live cd or an ubuntu live cd

Depends on what you want to use/try out initially.
If you want to test the KDE version, get the Kubuntu Desktop CD*.
If you want to test the GNOME version, get the Ubuntu Desktop CD*.

Take note that since the Desktop CDs now have the capability to install on your hard drive, you can later on install the desktop environment of your choice.

*Desktop CD is the new term for Live CD. It's basically a Live CD with a GUI installer included.

um, okay i know this is a kubuntu site but i was just wondering if its better to install ubuntu first then kubuntu or vice versa + which live cd for dapper is better for installing

if you're gonna use both gnome and kde it really should not matter which cd you use. have fun!
