hello,

yesterday i bought a Genius VideoCam Eye - webcam. actually i didn't make up my mind about linux-support as i thought this should be no problem. ...... i am such a fool ;)

when i plug it in (usb), a new usb-device (/var/log/messages) is recognized - that's all. it doesn't seem to know that it is a webcam or at least a video device and therefor i have no /dev/video*.

ofcourse, there are no drivers for linux included... (we are still an elite...)

does anyone know where i can get help from? (i already googled, but the webcam seems to be too new...... i am such a fool)

These links maybe a starter for you, they link to another site that has a list of chipsets that work. :-
