Hi guys.

Linux newbie here, having trouble with my wireless connection (i apologize if this is in the wrong section D: or my post is lacking details).

I'm on a Dell M1330 laptop (not the one with led screen, maybe that will help determine which card i have) and i'm pretty sure my wireless card (integrated) is an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG otherwise it's a 4965AGN. Dual booting with Vista Business as the other OS (Vista installed first).

I've configured my wireless via the GUI, and it's set to dhcp. I get an ip adress and i can ping my router, and google, and outside ip adresses but still can get anything up on my browser.

I get:
Server connection refused.... or Unknown host

Now i have searched and searched before i've resorted to posting here. And was hoping it was going to be something simple (dont think i can do anything too hardcore lol).

Is there something simple i'm missing, or do i have to update router firmware AND download drivers AND download ndisgtk (no idea what it is or how to install) AND ndiswrapper-blah blah blah AND remove old ndiswrapper and driver etc etc.

Also found out about the GUI package manager "Adept" so if there is a way of doing things that way i'd probably get it.

It should work with linux by defalult. I think there was another similar problem here: http://kubuntuforums.net/forums/index.php?topic=3110238.new#new

That might work for you. just in case there is a good tutorial for newbies just click here: http://kubuntuguide.org/Karmic
