I run the Netbook Remix Ubuntu 9.10. I used the command line and the sudo comand to update my system and it work like a charm. The only problem is once it rebooted it refuses to go further than a grub menu and after pressing tab it says "insert disk kernel not found".
I'm still a newbie and still can't get Linux to work like everyone says it does. Someone help. My netbook is being destroyed by Windows and all I want is Linux.

Hi
I think you should see several boot options in the bot loader (meaning, older "versions" - or "kernels" - should be there). Can you please try to boot from one of those?
Best luck!

No boot menu it loads up, then a grub menu and it tells you to press tab or insert disk. Seriously, it annoys me.

Well, I can guarantee you it;s no fun for me either, especially since I am doing this out of good faith, just to help you. Talking of which, if you could take a picture and post it here, it is more likely that someone will be able to help ...

That's an odd one. I'm not a UNR user, but allowing for that, I do not recognize this scenario as anything I've ever seen Linux do. Are you sure you're even looking at Linux prompt, or a Grub menu? When you do a cold start, after the BIOS screen, what is the first thing you see?
I agree with lmilano, a photo might help us comprehend what you're seeing.
