The last one I posted you can tell, I hope, that I was able to modify my current logo to soften it some. I also tried to make it appear like colored glass or crystalline. That is what I want. A Crystalline Kubuntu Logo. I'm decent with GIMP, but no where near that good to make my own :'(.

Anyway, any feedback on the above? ;) I personally like the last one because the Gradient color isn't as harsh and the center logo is closer to what I want, kind of.

i like it is very nice i haven't had much luck with glass like effects. hres my attempt at it don know if it will help

Kinda, and it gives me an idea of something I was working on. Thanks! I appreciate that. I do have a final Label. The export I was doing for it didn't go well, but it produced an nice effect that I'm leaving. I hope everyone likes them once released.

This is an example of what I was wanting except the color being more inline with the Kubuntu accepted. The Blue in this is to dark and shouldn't be the whole logo. I also like the "kubuntu" lettering. I wish I had a little bit more know how for GIMP and doing this. I started something in WINGS3D for the logo and actually have a great initial Ubuntu ring. Trouble I'm having now is trying to get the KDE Gears in place around it.

I didn't draw that!!!!!! Not Mine! Just a sample I found. I wish I did draw that though. I have finished a basic KDE Logo in WINGS and for an amateur at it, not bad :o. I still evidently lack some kind of mental capacity that can't figure out how to make an object appear like glass/crystal. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, my head hurts trying to think of it. I've tried finding tuts but no luck so far. Attached here is what I've done so far. Keep in mind the resolution here is horrible since I reduced the size of the shot to fit here. This is WINGS3D, not Blender. I can't figure out Blender.

Trying out that Logo I saw. Kind of liked it so I wanted to see. Thanks for the feedback. I'll look at something else. I do agree the "extra" logo may have been too much and crowded things.

Yes Wings3D has been around for quite some time. I found it very easy to pick up. I can do basic things like show above. I actually was able to take it into another application I use "3D Flash Animator". It does basic color skinning of 3D Models. I now have a Kubuntu Logo that I made myself, but I still can't figure out the "making" a clear see though object. :'( Makes me feel stupid that I can't figure out something that seems so easy.

Thanks! Yep that is easy to do. Finally was able to create the same effect. ;D (letters only, logo still perplexed over).

Below is a sample of my final version of the label. For once, the majority of it was created all by me. The only exceptions are the Konqui logo and the Koala that you supplied me (Thanks!).

oooooooh I love GIMP. Because of my experiments with the "kubuntu" letters, I figured out how to get closer to the crystal effect for my logo! :D

very nice piece of work moonrise . i liked the 3d kubuntu logos from the site i saw the glass logo i made them into kdms and a splash screen at kde-look im up to 580 uploads there yikes

Thanks! Here is what I was able to do with the logo. I think it is close to a glassy look. I like it anyway and that is all that matters :P ;D :o.

The res. is low to be able to post here, so there is a loss to how it really looks.
