(SOLVED) How Do You Activate Proprietory Hardware Drivers.

My wireless card (phillips snn6500 with atheros chipset) used to work brilliantly under 8.10 with knetworkmanager once I had activated the proprietory hardware drivers. With 9.04 I am unable to activate the drivers even after clicking on the activate several times. Is there a trick i'm missing somewhere.

Yes,this is an upgrade and thanks for the link. Now, how do I go about blacklisting the old drivers.
