Awesome, no plasma Crashes? No Kontact crashes? I am tented to try it on my eeepc, KDE4.2.4 is just too slow to login on cold boot. Thanks!

Works great on my dinky hp paviliion 500mb ram. Except when you open to many apps.
Had to do do a fresh install. Upgrade from JJ messed a few things up.

Wish i could try a real intsall of the netbook version.

Thanks Fintan

This sounds scary though:

I hope I can just upgrade. Installing from scratch on the 4gb disk is a PITA. How about you, roadrunner58, is this an upgrade in Jaunty? Others? Thanks everyone!

Installed on both karmic and jaunty (the karmic being a recent upgrade from jaunty).
So far, so good, no problems.

What is the easiest way to upgrade? Just enable backports?

An update, in KDE 4.3 I can't log out (I need to "sudo reboot" from a konsole). I am glad I only put this on the eee, which is single user. It would have been very inconvenient in the main desktop shared by 3 users!

At first I upgraded from JJ to kamic, but my JJ was, well...... special in a few ways and that is why the upgrade was choppy so I installed karmic proper.

I don't have a log out issue at all.Hmm... I remember having that in Intrepid alpha x

let me dig around.

Thanks, Fintan, I was thinking I might have to report this, but because you are not seeing it anymore (and probably others neither) it maybe something local ...

It's not just me then! Can't use 'logout', 'restart' or 'shutdown' from the menu since the update. 'Switch user' works.

Hmm... lmilano.
I just had another look on my laptop.

I can shut down :) and reboot :) but log out hangs :(.

So maybe there is a bug somewhere.

I don't have this on my desktop either with JJ nor KK

Time to report then, but in kde bugs, not launchpad, since for Karmic we would need to test on a bleeding edge, up to datet Karmic, that none of us seems to have !

I really like these exclamation signs that appear on the desktop, in any icon that leads you to write a script

When you run it for the first time it asks if you trust that script, and if you say YES the exclamation sign is removed

Neat! I was going to upload a screenshot but I dont see the option to upload images anymore, has it been removed? (UPDATE: this particular forum (Kubuntu Announcements) does not allow to add screenshots, others do, is this a forum bug or a feature?)

In all the 4.3 RCs, I've had an app only vertical panel, and for no reason the icons keep getting reordered... has anyone else had a similar experience? Not using the quicklaunch plasmoid, just the normal panel. Thanks.
