Hey, I'm trying to find applications on Linux so I can totally free myself from windows. I found a tab reader (tuxguitar). Now just trying to find something to replace Reason. I have a midi keyboard controller and would wish to find a piece of software or piece(s) to replace reason. Any suggestions?

I don't know much about Reason but LMMS claims to be a replacement for Fruityloops.

Ah sweet, I'll check it out! thanks. I had a go with GIMP today. I'm loving the free open source programs. They really do just as well as the ones you pay hundreds of bucks for.

You should take a look at Rosegarden.
http://www.rosegardenmusic.com/
sudo aptitude install rosegarden
will install it for you.

Gimp is very functional and it's all I use. In case it is relevant to you, Photoshop7 runs like a charm in wine and reportedly newer versions work too. However, I still only use Gimp. :)
