View Full Version : vga kernel opts with kubuntu-32 on AMD64

Howdy,

After installing kubuntu-32 DD-flight4 on AMD64 (nVidia graphics),
i can't use the vga=<n> kernel parameter, because the screen
stays black until the display manager pops up.

I guess this has something to do with kernel options, most
probably the vesafb driver isn't present or the console
framebuffer option isn't turned on (the latter isn't very likely).

(Why i install kubuntu-32 on AMD64 ? Because i'm not sure if
the 64-bit version is really stable already.)

Try again after adding/changing to ' vga=0x318 ' in your /boot/grub/menu.lst.

I also have an AMD64 and nvidia graphics (Nforce3 250GB chipset).

It might be enough to just hit <Esc> while the screen is blank.
