Unless my eyesight is failing me, there is no warning regarding the e1000e issue on the Kubuntu website. I know it is covered here on the forums but some people may go to the main site and follow the instructions, leaving them without internet connection.
Checking other sites such as open suse they have a clear warning and explanation at the top of their download instruction page.
As it stands I can't tell if Kubuntu have blacklist both the e1000e and the e1000 or just the e1000e. I think it is important that this is made clear.
