Guys is it possible to create a Kubuntu or Ubuntu edition made for laptops.
Its has too be very light. I know the Xubuntu, but I mean the one is made for the hardware
of laptops. I mean lcd display, powermanagement, programable shortcut buttons etc.
About software like abiword, spreadsheet and other software entertaiment for on the road.s
And ofcourse that is supporting modems and cellphones it would be great to release the headache
I use laptop daily, if i start to install linux its always end with adding and removing programs for my personal use. Can you do something like that.....please :) :) :) :) :) :)

Here's everything I know about it:

Check out the documentation -- looks like it covers most of what you need to know.

I have the standard Kubuntu 8.04 alternate and it has all those things you mention work OOTB in my laptop (yes, even wirelss with an Atheros chipset PC card). Programmable shortcut keys work really well. I'm not sure of using the cellphone as a modem 'cos I've never tried but data files on the phone easily manipulated. In fact 8.04 works better on my laptop than XP where sound is broken and wireless keeps dropping.
