Cpufreqd question

What do you do when you get this?

ka9qlq@dittohead:~$ sudo cpufreqd-get -l
No cpufreqd socket found

And
enable_remote=1?

Also could I get some tips on what to do with

#sensors_conf=/some/file
#

As I want the cpu stepping down when hot

cpufreq-set works from a kterm but that only sets the upper/lower cpu limit
