I have Hardy Heron 8.04 on my laptop and after login KDE won't start. No menu bar, no desktop, no window borders just konsole (in graphics), mouse and keyboard are working. But it is impossible to move with window because there are missing header a borders. I guess it is something with x11. Do you have any idea what happened? I tried to search logs, but I didn't find anything usefull

when u get into the situation (this will relieve issues with no borders) - if can type:
kwin &
then hit enter.

thx this helped. now I am quite missing menu bar and desktop (no icons, but four desktops are working) also after login the progress bar with initialization of kde apps is not shown. Which program handles this startup? and are there any logs for kde?

KDE has an autostart folder :)
~/.kde/Autostart
