Safely removing USB drives with KDE4

so...made the move to KDE4 a few days ago...managed to get most of what I want set up, but just tried a USB drive for the first time...how do you 'safely remove' them?

As a side note, the device notifier widget opens up center screen for me, which is a pain, becasue I have 2 monitors, so it splits it down the middle...is there any fix for this?

to safely remove a usb device, right-click on the icon and select unmount/eject and then pull the device out of the usb slot on ur computer.
