Mplayer not does not play video files , WHY

I install mplayer and xmms for open video file

but when i try open video file ( avi , wma , ....) the sound is heared but video does not find and appear message say :

gnome_screensaver_control()

With (ok button)

what can i do for playing video correctly

I don't know XMMS, but in Mplayer open the menu with the right mouse button, choose 'Preferences" open the "Video" tab and select a different setting. X11 works for me.

I didn't know xmms would play video -- I thought it was only for audio.

You might want to try vlc. :)
