Hello,

I got some question as I never used Kubuntu before.

1. I heard that Kubuntu is logged in as root by default. Is that true? Or are there any there any "insecurities" open that some Linux user might consider risky?

2. Does Kubuntu have a built-in firewall?

3. Both Knoppix and Kubuntu is Debian-based. What are the major differences between Knoppix and Kubuntu?

2. Does Kubuntu have a built-in firewall? No. Read this (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=11312&postcount=4) for more details.

3. Both Knoppix and Kubuntu is Debian-based. What are the major differences between Knoppix and Kubuntu?
Knoppix is mainly a live CD (that can install) and can use straight Debian repositories. Kubuntu is mainly an installer CD (with a live counterpart) that is Debian-based but uses Ubuntu repositories based on Debian's unstable branch.
